Rental charges associated with damage and loss.

Before returning an instrument, it is important to clean it up, so it looks as new as
possible. If there are any tapes on the fingerboard or bow, they should be removed. If
there is built up rosin dust on the violin, it should be cleaned. If the violin is returned
without any obvious or abnormal wear and tear then there are no charges. However,
violins sometimes get damaged and if we can repair it, we will spend the time to repair
the instrument but there is a fee associated with it. Below is a list of fees that you can
expect to pay if the instrument is damaged or lost. If the violin is damaged beyond
repair, then the retail cost of the instrument must be paid, minus 55% of any rental
credits you have accumulated while renting it. This is a rare occurance and would
usually only occur if the instrument has a crack on the top or bottom plate. |
