Franklin Zgonc violas have a unique
"silkiness" to them, which makes them
very nice instruments to play; especially
when playing delicate passages.  These
violas are constructed of the finest tone
woods and were selected specifically for
their age and grain patterns. Each viola
was hand crafted by Franklin Zgonc, so
each instrument has its own unique
personality in finish and tone. Each Zgonc is
varnished with a multiple layered oil finish, that
enables each viola to resonate to its full
potential. These violas are custom fitted with
a Genuine, French Aubert bridge. These
bridges allow the player to easily manipulate
even the smallest tone color. We were able
to obtain a limited amount of these violas
and after we run out, they are gone and
you'll never see them sold for such a low
price anywhere else. Every viola is a
Stradivarious copy and we have several
varnish colors to choose from. Each viola
is unique, so the picture to the right is the
same viola you get when you order. If you're
interested in a different color varnish, just let
us know, and we can see if we have what
you want. Generally the violas are reddish
brown, more reddish brown or more
blonde in color.
