The Antonio Giuliani Violin is a truly beautiful and unique instrument, made from select maple and spruce tone woods grown in cold climates, high elevations. Each Giuliani violin has its own stunningly tiger-striped flame across the ribs, back, and scroll of the instrument, highlighted with a warm, rich, reddish-brown varnish. The violins come strung with steel-core D'Addario Prelude Strings. Hear the Giuliani played live in the following performance videos.
Professional setup and detailed finish work on the Giuliani is done with utmost attention. More time is spent on the final carving of the top plate, which greatly improves sound quality. Similarly, more time is spent in the precise placement and fit of the sound posts and bass bar, to enhance the resonance of the instrument. As a result, the violin is very comfortable to hold, offers excellent playability, and is responsive to the most subtle nuances of musical expression.
Finishing touches include gold-toned decorative eyes on the fittings (including the tailpiece, pegs, and end button) that give the violin both elegant character and visual appeal. The use of mother-of-pearl inlay adds value to the instrument as it involves a traditional technique of inserting both metal and iridescent shell into the wood and smoothing the surface of the piece.
The Antonio Giuliani Violin is both a truly beautiful work of art as well as an instrument that is invigorating to play because of its wonderful sound and playability. Players describe its sound as sweet, strong, and projective.

I am on a personal journey to reconnect with people and expand my base of life long friends. I rediscovered the violin after taking a few lessons in elementary school by attending a Christmas play in Wasilla, Alaska called "Cotton Patch Gospel." I began to research on the internet how to read music, buy a violin, and the history of violins. I determined my budget, set my goals on an instrument that was a work of art, and talked to as many people as I could to find more friends.
To my surprise, I received a few donations from my friends and people I met, mainly words of encouragment-very helpful. I shopped several music stores, various internet web-sites and discovered Kennedy's Violins. Amazing!
I spoke with Heather on several occations - Excellent Customer Service. Each time, I gained more insight into my purchase. Some day, I wish to own a violin that has history and beauty but until then, I have a beautiful work of art at an Excellent price.
The violin, upgraded case, upgraded strings, tuner, rosin, lesson book and customer service exceeded by expectations. I'm just a beginner but, this violin will give me years of joy. THANK-YOU!

I wanted this instrument to split the difference between my good-quality student violin (at roughly half the Giuliani's MSRP) and my del Gesu Il Cannone copy (at roughly twice ditto). It fulfills that goal admirably; if anything, it's closer to the Guarneri copy, making it an unbeatable value.
APPEARANCE: Visually very attractive. Maple back and sides beautifully flamed. Grain on the spruce top generally quite tight and very even. Finish virtually flawless except in a couple of tiny, very hard-to-find areas with zero effect on tone, playability, or general appearance.
SETUP: Overall the most meticulous setup I've seen yet from a dealer on the Web; not many brick-and-mortar shops would do better. Props to the luthiers!
TONE AND PLAYABILITY: Exceptionally responsive! Excellent volume and superb projection. Tone darkly sweet (or sweetly dark?). More than holds its own with dreadnaught guitars and resonator banjos, and should even hang in with brass.
OTHER OUTFIT COMPONENTS: Outstanding. Case: Excellent. Rosin, cleaning cloth, and set of spare strings included. Octagonal bow.
SUMMARY: Giuliani Violin Outfit represents outstanding value in an exceptionally capable instrument. Kennedy Violins sales info highly informative. Top-notch setup and great after-sale customer support. Five stars.
