Travis. I would like to thank you for all your good work in helping me select my first violin. I purchased a Frank Henner set from Kennedy violins. The third time picked up the violin to practice, it was evident that there was life inside the instrument and a very rich sound. This is the first time playing the violin and have no experience with them. I wanted a violin that had good looks and something that I could grow into over the next while. The Henner fit the bill perfectly . I am very happy I talked to you to make my decision a positive one.
Thanks for all your help.

I bought this because I wanted a violin that was good enough that if I found I enjoyed playing it I wouldn't have to immediately upgrade. This is definitely the right violin. If I'd had one that sounded this good when I rented and took lessons in my 20s I probably would have kept up with it. The tone is beautiful and the workmanship is great. It stays in tune with just minor adjustments. I bought the outfit with a carbon fiber bow and later added the Brazilwood bow. I got Zylex strings. I started taking lessons last week (there is only so much you can pick up from the internet and iPad apps) and my instructor was really impressed. When I told him I'd bought my violin online I could tell he was expecting me to pull out a violin-shaped object, but once he got a look and heard it, it was definitely a different story. I am really enjoying this instrument and this Christmas will be entertaining the family with my violin. I am amazed at how fast I was able to pick this up again. If you are looking for an upgrade or have always thought about taking up the violin as a serious hobby, look hard at this model. BTW, it arrived in perfect condition in about 4 days after I ordered. Heather was extremely helpful when I made my decision. The customer service and willingness to answer questions (plus the end result) will keep me coming back to Kennedy Violins.

I was very sketchy buying a violin online, but it was the best decision I made with Kennedy Violins. I had spent months, even years looking for the "right" violin to start playing again; I had checked every shop in and around the surrounding cities that I live by and none really caught my attention until I came across this website and read all the wonderful reviews and heard the demo of the violin being played.
I received my violin after about five days of ordering it and it arrived in mint and perfect condition; the wood was gorgeous and unique to my liking, the case was more than I had expected, and the sound of the violin was so powerful and clear and warm; I actually enjoy playing again and am able to play with confidence knowing I have a great quality violin with amazing tone.
I can't say it enough, I absolutely love the violin! It is worth every cent most definitely.

In December I decided to start up violin. The last I played was 1976
So I talked with Heather and we decided that I should try the g1. After about two or so weeks playing, I decided I probably could do a little better for a little more. The g1 is a fine instrument to young ears. Unless the child prodigy violinist complex hits a parent then it's not.
After sleeping on it, ( not the actual instrument) but rather my upgrade decision, I called and Heather once again was able to steer me in the right dirction she really came to the rescue!
I now have this frank henner and very happy with the broader sound it creates, especially with dominant strings on it. It's pegs are even better, I don't know how, but they tune easier and keep the tune.
I'm still breaking in the strings and the instrument, it sure will sound even more sweet when that happens.
I even got a better bow after my conversation with Heather, and it makes such a difference.
All together this makes me sound good, actually better than I am.
I'm just an average player but I could hear the difference in the two in comparison.
OBTW. thank you Kennedy and Heather, for such lovely uncompromised service and hospitality. It makes a world of difference to us who are older and maybe shy about talking about beginning such a new quest of fiddlin around!

Just would like to say thanks Kennedy Violins for providing exceptional customer service specialy Heather who helped me with my purchase of my very first violin!!!. Couldn't ask for any better outfit for the value!!! First of all my Great Great Grandfather was a violin maker Charles Edward Heiberg from St. Paul , Minn that's what inspired me to play violin so looked into playing violin always played Brass cornet, trumpet,Flugelhorn, but this time desired to play violin. Been looking for some time in who to go through to purchase a violin. I decided to go with Kenn Violins. My instructor insisting that go through another violin company that's been around very long time, say the least I insisted on Kennendy so glad I did. With the instructor not knowing what company I choose, had first lesson, she stated that the violin was very nice, sounded great, and even the bow was magnificent, even had a nice curve arch to it so I stated I ordered with Kennedy instead of other competitors. She was little amazed. I felt very good about my purchase. I can't thank you all enough for my purchase. I will be recommending to all my family members as well as friends. Thank you Mr. Joel Kennedy for all your company has done to satifiy me. A perfectionest.looking forward to more busniness with you all. Thank you shin all the staff at Kennedy violins making my purchase most memorable, could ask for better company!!! If my Great Great Grandfather where here he would be pleased to recommend you all I sure of it Thank a million!!!

This is my first violin and I'm very happy with it. I've been a guitar and bass player for many years and have recently taken an interest in bluegrass/classical music and their instruments. After doing some research on various internet forums for violin, I found many great reviews of Kennedy Violin. I've been playing the Double Bass for a few months and have learned that having an expert set-up is very important for it as well as other stringed orchestral instruments, which is a bit different compared to the guitar and electric bass that I've been playing for years.
Prior to ordering, I called and spoke with Heather about my overall goals and desire for an instrument that I could learn on but would not outgrow. The Henner fit the bill of my overall goals.
The violin was shipped very promptly after I ordered it and arrived in perfect shape. Kennedy did an excellent job packaging the instrument for shipping. It was nice to get the package deal that included everything I needed to begin playing as soon as it arrived. The setup once I got it was very easy, basically I just had to put it in tune and start playing. The violin is beautiful. Very nice wood grain as is shown in the pictures. The case is very sturdy/functional.
I look forward to years of enjoyment with this violin!

I am an adult buying my first violin. I originally purchased the Carpini G2 even though Heather suggested the Henner. The Carpini is a nice instrument, but as this violin will be with me for a long time I decided to upgrade to the Henner. Heather was correct. For just a little more money the difference in the instruments the Henner is a beautiful and sounds great. My instructor thought it it was twice the price. I should have listened to Heather in the first place!!!

I just purchased the Franke Henner violin and case. I made my decision for this particular violin based on the customer reviews I read, because I am a beginner and knew very little about violins except some research I had done online, the reviews were really helpful, I am very pleased with my purchase, I don't believe you could find a better price and still get the same quality of instrument. My music teacher was very impressed with the price I paid and especially the Henner case ( I love the red! ). The violin itself is soooo beautiful, the wood has alot of character with the stripey grain and the finish is lovely. As for the sound, it has incredible volume and I am just really excited to learn to play well enough to do it justice. This is an instrument that I will both be able to learn on and have for a very long time. Thank you Kennedy Violins for helping me join the orchestral family and embark on my musical journey.

I played violin for about 6 years as a child and just started again after taking 30 years off! I called Kennedy Violins (my 2 children have been using Kennedy rentals for the past two years and I have been so pleased with the quality of their rentals and customer service) and spoke to Heather. I was looking for a violin in the $500-800 range and Heather recommended the Henner outfit. I was willing to spend more, but Heather highly recommended the Henner for the quality of the instrument.
I quickly received the violin and couldn't be more pleased! My violin teacher was amazed at the quality, especially for the price! My teacher said the Henner is:
1) quick, responsive, easy to play
2) the set up of the violin is "spot on"
3) nice warm sound without loosing projection
4) clear tone
5) good luck finding a better violin at this price point! Wow!
I am so glad I purchased this violin and thrilled with the wonderful customer service from Kennedy Violins! They were trying to fit me with the best violin, not just an expensive violin. Call them and talk to the experts if you need help! They take the time to ensure they have happy customers!

This violin, the Franke Henner is a great violin. I am 72 and took a few lessons years ago. Like so many others I quit before music became fun.
Now I know one of the problems I had with it was cheap violins. The Henner has a rich, mellow tone and a nice "ring." It just sounds good.
I bought some online courses and the violin was instantly fun. I play every day.
So my advice is to buy the best instrument you can afford. To me that was the Franke Henner from Kennedy Violins. I have seen this instrument "on sale" for $750 or so at other stores. So not only is it a great violin, but it is a great buy at Kennedy.
The violin comes from Kennedy set up and ready to play. The Kennedy outfit has upgraded strings and includes a really nice case. Along with fine tuners on all the strings.Other vendors ship the bridge and strings un-assembled. A bit intimidating for a beginner.
Get an electronic tuner (with metronome if possible). The new strings will stretch some and will need to be fine tuned when you get it. Be sure and read the enclosed note about resining your new bow. You must resin the bow and fine tune the strings before you play. You must get enough resin on the bow.
A personal note. After 40 years of not touching a violin, the first exercises I did with finger placement I was right on the notes. Fingers remember.
Liz Lambson was very nice to talk to and discuss the Henner, I had settled on it by listening to the violins being played and reviewed on the Kennedy website. The butter toffee was a nice gesture, Liz. I have bought tons of these, as it was my Mother's favorite candy.

When I first received the violin and tuned it up I plucked the strings first, I said to myself, uh oh this is not good, for it didn't ring as much as my old one. However when I put a bow on it everyting changed for the better.T he tone is quite nice and smooth on all strings which is what I wanted. It is a lot better than the old Knilling, no harsh overtones. I think maybe I was a better player than I thought. LOL
I would also like to thank Heather for steering me in the right direction with the Henner. Kennedy does a good job and if I ever need another violin I will get it from you.

So far, so good being my daughter has only had violin for a few weeks. Her instructor was so satisfied with it, he asked for information so he could purchase one for himself.
