As one of our most popular student outfits, the Ricard Bunnel is far superior to any other offered at this price point. Student violins sold by other retailers at this cost are typically coated with a thick, glossy lacquer finish that does hinders quality tone production. The Ricard Bunnel has an authentic, hand-rubbed oil finish.
The oil finish is an unique feature usually seen on more expensive violins. It not only looks more professional, but remains true to historical, tried-and-true standards of hand-crafted violin making. The finish, construction, fittings, and design of the Ricard Bunnel give this instrument a warmer and more projective sound than other competing student violin at the same price point. Watch the performance videos of the Ricard Bunnel G2 to hear the quality of this instrument in live performance.
The Ricard Bunnel is strung with steel-core D'Addario Prelude Strings which greatly improve playability and sound. Other student violins often come with basic "solid" steel strings with no winding which produces little resonance and a tinny, cold sound. Kennedy Violins pre-tunes your Bunnel violin with steel-core, wound Prelude strings that offer a warm and rich sound.
For beginning students, we recommend the following beginning violin books from our sheet music collection to get started. The following method books teach introductory techniques, music theory, and how-to basics for learning to play the violin:
FREE expert setup by our staff of professional luthiers is included with your purchase to meet or exceed all MENC specifications and standard measurements. I really love this violin! It's perfect for beginers. It has a nice sound to it and I just LOVE the bow! :) Compared to my old violin, this one really makes me happy.

It sounds good and well organized,
However it needs some cosmetic make up to make the connections smooth as the main body and the stem.

My son realy likes the violin compared to the one I purchased at an auction and had re-setup. Even his violin teacher ha complimented on the violin. I just hope he sticks with playing the violin.

Okay maybe I'm a little obsessive, but this violin sounds as good as any I've ever played. I think I will have to get a lot better before I need anything else. It is also easy to finger. Also, and perhaps more important, it is easy to tune.
The best part is the people at Kennedy Violins. They actually enjoy talking about violins and playing. They also have excellent instructional videos.

I am a new student and I recommend this product. My teacher love the sound of this violin and told me that I made a good decision to buy this violin. I come from Puerto Rico and the delivery was fast. Excellent customer service and price.

My loved 3-year old girl needed a violin to start playing, so as an amateur-musician I started researching brands, and details of the instrument. Kennedy Violins always offered me kindness and information, even though I wasn't sure to buy one of their violins. After my research I realize there was a very good chance to get a very good instrument from Kennedy Violins at that price range. I was right.
The best violin of my daughter's group is a Ricard Bunnel. It has a fair sound and a great finish. Is quite easy and precise to tune up, which is something rare in this size of violins. These instruments are finished by the hand of a luthier, which makes a world of difference.
I guess I will need to buy all the way up to the 1/1 in Kennedy Violins as my little one continues growing!

The G2 is a beautiful violin. I ordered it for my Granddaughter's 9th birthday and she will be thrilled. I looked all over the internet and music stores for a student violin and this far out surpassed all of the others in quality and price. I would definitely order from them again!

My daughter, who's been playing in the school orchestra for five years, loves this beautiful violin. I shopped around, looking for the best quality in this price range. I believe I found it in the Bunnel G2. It has a very nice, pleasing sound and we love the way it looks. The outfit is perfect and includes everything I was looking for. I appreciate the helpful and friendly customer service and quick delivery.

I got tired of renting a violin from Music & Arts. This violin cost less than a year's rental from them and is a much better quality. It has a nice rounded sound and comes in a beautiful case with a humidity monitor and a good quality bow. The service was wonderful and I would definitely buy from them again if my daughter continues to play to a professional grade.
Its too bad I didn't know about Kennedy earlier. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who's child is interested in playing and I will spread the word about them in the schools.

I ordered this violin and it came earlier than expected, which was awesome..even all the way to Canada! Everything was ready to go, and the adorable little instructions that came with it made my day. My only complaint would be that there were expensive incoming fees that had to do with shipping and border costs even after it arrived, which I wasn't too pleased about, but it wasn't Kennedy's' fault. Overall, a nice violin that's really pretty and has a decent sound..perfect for a beginner or an experienced violinist, and worth the money.
The service was great to me all the time...Heather is the best!

I ordered a violin for my father for my birthday. He's never played before, and neither of us know anything about violins. Heather helped me pick the right one for him at the right price for me. I'm really pleased with the purchase and even more pleased I don't have to listen to my dad learn to play.

Got one G2 not long ago and I have no idea on how to play it but the sound the violin makes is very good ( It motivates me to learn how to play it more which is good). The material the violin is made with also seems good quality. Very satisfied with the costumer service, I think it was a good price for what I got. :D

This is just a beautiful piece of work, from the smooth line to the quality of sound. I purchased this as a gift for a friend and have now decided that i am going to purchase one for myself because i liked it so much. Needless to say the quality is exceeded expectations with this piece. I am very pleased, and will definitely be keeping Kennedy Violins on my shopping and supply list.

While I haven't tried every violin in this price range, I've been around many brands in this range and not a one that I've seen can match it for quality and tone. I purchased a G2 about six months ago without really comparison shopping, and was very pleased with my purchase. After visiting shops and playing around with other student-level violins in this price, I'm quite happy to say I made a great choice. Most are overly-glossy, cheap feeling violins (some with fake ebony parts) that cannot coome close to the features and sound of the G2. I liked this violin enough that I've put some money into upgrades and it sounds even better. The upgrades included Thomastik strings, and Despiau bridge and a Dov Schmidt compensated tailpiece without fine tuners on the G, D and A. Well worth the cost, and it sounds better than ever without breaking the bank or upgrading to a new instrument. If you're looking for a great entry-level violin at a great price, this is it. It comes ready to play out-of-the-box, but you can always upgrade it later as you progress. Best bang-for-the-buck out there if you're just starting out. Even my teacher, who's been playing all her life, was very surprised when I told her what I paid for it. She played it first, and guessed twice as much.
