The most popular violin outfit for adults and an upgrade from the Carpini G3, the Louis Carpini G2 Violin is made with select maple and spruce tone woods. The G2 model is strung with professional steel-core D’Addario Prelude Strings for a warm, refined sound. Additional upgrades from the Carpini G3 include more time invested in the final stages of carving and setup to ensure better tone quality and projection from the violin. Listen to the Carpini played live in the following performance video.
Wood is hand-selected by master luthiers with properties such as higher grades of wood grain and significant amounts of flame in the back plate. Both the attention to detail in setup as well as the quality and beauty of the wood increases the value of the violin.
The Louis Carpini G2 Violin Outfit is by far the best instrument you will find at this accessible price point for such quality, durability, attention to detail, and fine materials. We have been Kennedy Violins rental customers for over 3 years and have rented 2 violins a month for my 8 year old twins. We have rented the Bunnel G2 and Guiliani Etude. We have been pleased with both, and noticed a step up in quality between the Bunnel G2 and the Guiliani Etude. We thought the Etude was amazing and didn't think a fractional size could ever sound that nice. However, after a long discussion with Kennedy Violins about our needs and decision to now move forward with purchase, we decided to upgrade again and purchased the Carpini G2. Wow! Our violin teacher is very impressed. He said the Carpini G2 sounds like a full size violin. He played the Etude and Carpini side by side for me. As a mom, even I could tell the difference. The Carpini had the mellow tone and richness of a full size violin. He said the Carpini can handle double stops (unusual for a fractional size he said) and there is no vibration under the chin rest as he plays. He said the hardware is all top notch, excellent fine tuners, and high quality all around. He said it is well worth the extra $150 for the Carpini over the Etude (and the Etude is an excellent student violin as well, but the Carpini is a noticible upgrade).
Kennedy Violins has amazing customer service in addition to their quality instruments. We live in Wisconsin and all our interactions have been over the phone. Kennedy has taken the time to talk with me and our teacher on several occasions. Whatever price point is in your budget, rest assured that Kennedy will provide the best instrument at that price level. I don't think other companies can even compare. They make delivery and returns easy with a simple phone call and UPS label. Don't worry if you live out of state. A quality instrument will be delivered right to your door. Kennedy stands behind their instruments and you will be a happy customer. Kennedy has my loyalty without a doubt!

I have wanted to learn to play the violin for some time. During the last year I have had the good fortune to become friends with a very talented violinist/instructor. I began reading, watching and listening to as many sources as I could in my quest to select an instrument. I noticed several references to Kennedy as an on-line and walk-in store. I liked the story behind Kennedy, all employees play a string instruments and are passionate about music. The on-line store had a large selection of violins that covered a pretty wide price range. As I reviewed the choices I liked the idea of being able to listen to recordings of each instrument as I decided which one was for me. I selected the Louis Carpini G2 because I am an on the older side as a beginner and felt it unlikely that I would outgrow the instrument. Buying on-line was not without some hesitation however. Kennedy does offer a 45-day return policy, so that was my safety net. I placed my order on a Friday and received a shipping notice the next day. By Monday or Tuesday UPS let me that because of severe weather that the violin was stuck in North Dakota. I did chat on-line with Heather because I did have some concerns about how cold weather during transit might damage the violin. She assured me that UPS knew how to protect the shipment and that I did not need to worry and suggested that I give the violin about 24 hours to acclimate, temperature wise, before tuning and playing. I have had my second lesson and am very happy with my choice. After the first lesson I asked my instructor to play a favorite song on the violin. It was not exactly the same as her $30,000 instrument but to my ear made the new violin sing. I told her that I wanted to write a review and asked her opinion of the violin and accessories. She was very complementary of it all. When I told her that the total investment was around $600 she was surprised and said she felt I had done very well. I did get a follow-up from customer service checking on the delivery and asking if there were any concerns. I responded to the e-mail with some general care questions and Heather responded quickly and completely. I have no reservations in recommending Kennedy Violins and should I out grow the Louis Carpini G2 that is where I will shop. Thanks Heather!

As a beginning violinist, it is hard to accurately review an instrument for tonal quality and build quality. However, after playing for a few weeks, reading endless amounts of tips and sharing my instrument with experienced players there are quite a few things and I would like to share about my Kennedy violin and Kennedy as a company.
As a company Kennedy impresses, they are always available at a moment’s notice and seem very genuine to wanting to help you before, during and after your purchase. When I began my search for a begging, sub $500 violin, I looked at models on Musician’s Friend and Amazon to name a few. Though I can’t claim any merit to this suggestion, I cannot imagine buying a nicer quality violin for the price, nothing seemed to compare online. I also never expected to get one so nice and affordable that is made in the USA. I would highly recommend buying from Kennedy for these reasons alone.
As for the violin, it is beautiful. Having owned it for about six weeks I still open the case excited to see it. The grain is very tight and the flaming is gorgeous, everyone I speak to is very impressed to the build quality for an instrument of this price range. Also, after only about the first week the violin holds in tune perfectly, very impressive. As stated, I am new to the violin so I have not flexed its muscles so-to-speak. But, I feel as a beginner the violin and I sound very good together. I was very quick to play rich sounding open notes, very encouraging to a new player.
In short, buy from Kennedy.

The violin has the sound of a high quality full sized violin, which for a 1/2 sized violin, I thought was unattainable. We are very happy with the violin, and will order from Kennedy again in the future.

The Louis Carpini G2 is a very nice, high quality violin. Kennedy Violins setup of the violin makes it even better. The tone, sound quality and sound volume are exceptional. The eco-case and octigonal bow that come with the violin are equally as impressive.

My 14 year old developed an interest in learning to play the violin. After
doing some research, he found that he needed a full size 4/4 violin. Because of his age and desire to learn, we decided to purchase a violin rather than rent one. The rental for a commitment of 2 years would be more than the purchase price of a violin, so, I began looking on line. Our local violin shop had student violins for sale but the cost was out of our budget range. I found a website called Violinist.com which provided information about the selection of a beginner violin. It was on this site that I found Kennedy Violins. I really liked that your site provided information on the different violins and that we were able to listen to the individual violins before making our decision. I also liked your trial period (45days) and return policy. After listening to the Ricard Bunnel G2, G1, the Louis Caprini G3 and G2 (these were the violins within our budget), we decided on the Louis Caprini G2.
We ordered the Violin on a Sunday night, Nov. 11th and the Violin arrived Friday, No. 16th. When our son opened the package, he was so excited.
The violin case was sturdy and roomy, the violin itself was beautiful! When he brought the violin to his first lesson, the teacher had to tune it just a bit. After that she played the violin and was surprised at the brightness and the projection of the sound that it produced. When my son played it during his lesson, he had no trouble producing good sound. She commented that sometimes with student violins, the pupils have trouble playing the instrument, so the ease of play is definitely a plus. She also thought the entire outfit was really good quality. She even commented on the good quality rosin that came with the violin. When she asked me what the cost of the entire outfit was, she was pleasantly surprised.
My son has had two lessons so far and is enjoying his new violin very much. He especially likes the way it feels and sounds. The best part is
that he can't wait to finish his homework so he can practice his violin!
(This was not the case with his piano and flute!) And we all enjoy his practices.
Thank you Kennedy Violins for the great work that you do to encourage budding violinists!

Just got my G2, so excited. It looks absolutely beautiful with the tiger stripped backing. It sounds wonderful, I no longer have to use an amp with my silent violin. It showed up just in time because my silent violin's electronics just died ; ( . It showed up at my door exactly when they said it would. I love the case and all of its compartments and that it can hold more than one bow. Looking forward, to many years of enjoyment.
P.S.-Thanks for the little candies. Unfortunately, my mother stole them both, she said they were good.

I love my Violin the sound is just right and when you first get it you smell the wood and you can just tell that it was wonderfully crafted. The sound is loud, deep, and rich, and for me was a grate upgrade form the glossy beginner "popped out of some machine in Germany" violin I had before hand. This Beautiful the Tiger Maple (personally my favorite violin backing) just shines. Seance it was so much better then my previous violin it encouraged me to practice more often because it just feel so much better to not have this thing not screeching but making music next to your ear. And I plan for this violin to be the violin that I keep probably for the rest of my life ,so long as nothing happens to it ;(, I love it so much.
