Ricard Bunnel G2 Demo from KennedyViolins.com (Telemann Concerto) (00:34)
This is a demonstration video of the Ricard Bunnel G2 violin. The classical excerpt being performed is from the Telemann Concerto. This video is provided by Kennedy Violins and other videos of the Ricard Bunnel G2 violin can be found at KennedyViolins.com

Product Description

One of our most popular student outfits, the Ricard Bunnel G2 Violin Outfit is far superior to any other offered at this exceptional price point. Student violins sold by other retailers at this cost are typically coated with a thick, glossy lacquer finish that does not create quality tone production, while the Ricard Bunnel G2 Violin has an authentic oil finish.

The oil finish is a very unique feature usually seen on more expensive violins that not only looks more professional, but remains true to historical, tried-and-true standards of hand-crafted violin making. The finish, construction, shape, fittings, and design of the Bunnel G2 Violin give this instrument a warmer, more natural, and projective sound than any competing student violin of this quality. Watch the performance video of the Bunnel G2 to hear the quality of this instrument in live performance.

Strings

Steel-core D'Addario Prelude Strings come installed on the instrument, greatly improving playability and sound. While most student violins come with basic "solid" steel strings with no winding, little resonance, and a cold sound, Preludes offer a warmer, richer sound that both complements and enhances the sound of the instrument.

Recommended Beginning Violin Books

For beginning students, we recommend the following beginning violin books from our sheet music collection to get started. The following method books teach introductory techniques, music theory, and how-to basics for learning to play the violin:

  • Hal Leonard Essential Elements 2000 for Strings Violin Book 1 with CD-ROM – Essential Elements is the most popular beginning violin book for students and school orchestra programs. The included CD-ROM provides additional instructions and accompaniment with which students can play along. This fun, interactive, and thorough string method book is a must-have.
  • Suzuki Violin School: Violin Part, Vol. 1The Suzuki Violin Method, Book 1 is the most popular beginning violin book for students in private lessons and violin teachers. The popular Suzuki method, created by Japanese violinist Shin'ichi Suzuki, is a unique method that encourages starting young, learning in a positive environment, playing by ear, performing in public, and being a part of a larger musical community.
  • Intro to ViolinIntro to Violin is a fun, comprehensive guide for beginning violinists designed and written by our very own Adam Easley and Liz Lambson of the Kennedy Violins Staff. 1. sounds good

Posted by Unknown on 12th Feb 2013

It sounds good and well organized,
However it needs some cosmetic make up to make the connections smooth as the main body and the stem.

  2. G2 is a great beginner violin

Posted by Stephen on 7th Jan 2013

My son realy likes the violin compared to the one I purchased at an auction and had re-setup. Even his violin teacher ha complimented on the violin. I just hope he sticks with playing the violin.

  3. I could play it all day and all night.

Posted by kencil jarman on 29th Nov 2012

Okay maybe I'm a little obsessive, but this violin sounds as good as any I've ever played. I think I will have to get a lot better before I need anything else. It is also easy to finger. Also, and perhaps more important, it is easy to tune.

The best part is the people at Kennedy Violins. They actually enjoy talking about violins and playing. They also have excellent instructional videos.

    Thank you!

  6. G2 is perfect for a starter Violin

Posted by Unknown on 25th Oct 2012

This violin is beautiful and my daughter's teacher says it has good sound. I looked at a number of places an this was the best value I found. Very pleased with this purchase.

  7. Best in 1/16 class

Posted by Marco, Costa Rica on 16th Oct 2012

My loved 3-year old girl needed a violin to start playing, so as an amateur-musician I started researching brands, and details of the instrument. Kennedy Violins always offered me kindness and information, even though I wasn't sure to buy one of their violins. After my research I realize there was a very good chance to get a very good instrument from Kennedy Violins at that price range. I was right.

The best violin of my daughter's group is a Ricard Bunnel. It has a fair sound and a great finish. Is quite easy and precise to tune up, which is something rare in this size of violins. These instruments are finished by the hand of a luthier, which makes a world of difference.

I guess I will need to buy all the way up to the 1/1 in Kennedy Violins as my little one continues growing!

  8. G2

    Great sounds, beautiful music

  9. G2 violin

Posted by Pam Miller on 23rd Sep 2012

The G2 is a beautiful violin. I ordered it for my Granddaughter's 9th birthday and she will be thrilled. I looked all over the internet and music stores for a student violin and this far out surpassed all of the others in quality and price. I would definitely order from them again!

  10. Beautiful for the price

Posted by Lani Wright on 11th Sep 2012

My daughter, who's been playing in the school orchestra for five years, loves this beautiful violin. I shopped around, looking for the best quality in this price range. I believe I found it in the Bunnel G2. It has a very nice, pleasing sound and we love the way it looks. The outfit is perfect and includes everything I was looking for. I appreciate the helpful and friendly customer service and quick delivery.
